Why dental care doesn't get its due in public health policy

The event will start on: Jan 27, 01:00pm EST
And will end on: Jan 27, 02:00pm EST

This Fireside Chat will engage participants in a conversation about why dental care doesn't get its due in public health policy. We know the issue is often ignored by governments and the health policy community in general, but why is this the case?
Data will be presented on: the scope of oral health inequalities in Canada; the logic behind current dental care policy; how the public view oral heath and dental care from an equity perspective; and how dental care ranks among other uninsured services with respect to public preferences for governmental spending.
The aim of this Fireside Chat is to consider our strategies for public and government engagement. Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of the policy challenges that face dentistry in the public sphere in relation to equity in oral health and access to dental care.
